Being a wedding photographer is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a tough job. But the key to doing it well, aside from the right equipment and experience, is enjoying it, which I do!
My style of photography can be summed up in a word – ‘intimacy’. I’m always looking for the connection. That’s why it’s important that you feel at ease with me. I’ll be with you most of the day… but not always. Sometimes I’ll be telling you where to stand and when to smile, but for much of it I’ll be in the background, capturing fleeting glances and the emotion of your wedding day.
Good wedding photography is expensive because it’s pressurised and extremely hard work. Depending on the setting I’ll constantly be switching between landscape, portrait, event, food and reportage photography, so I have to know what works in all these scenarios. And the wedding day is only the first part of the process. Editing and retouching are just as gruelling, even more so. It takes days! As for the equipment, investing in quality cameras, lights and lenses that will capture your day beautifully is always dear. But, in the end it’s worth it, because great wedding photography is priceless.
My rate for the day is £1000. This includes my time from start to finish (up to 10 hours) and a fully edited set of pictures. Additional expenses include travel costs and accommodation where necessary.
I also offer a hard cover photo book for an additional £200.
Where possible I like to do a reccie. However, if it’s further afield (more than 40 miles from East Grinstead, East Sussex) or abroad I’m still happy to do a reccie but my travel expenses will need to be covered.
Between 600-1000. I’m a strong believer in quality over quantity.
The photographer always retains the copyright, but I give you the high res digital files to use as you wish. And you can print as many copies as you like.
Yes, I’ll set up a password protected gallery on my site that you’ll be able to share with friends and family.
I aim to get your images to you within four weeks.
